Dark Secrets cover

Follow the Triplet family on a world tour of spectacular places in search of the ultimate power source.

When James Triplet decodes a document which has been in the Triplet family possession since 1099 it's revelations are astounding. The document appears to have been written by the 'Sky People'. It speaks of a key, a path and the need to prepare or die in a world disaster. It starts Sir Richard and his family on a global tour of pyramids, ancient monuments and sacred places in a quest for the ultimate power they will need to save humanity.

The original document was important enough to be inscribed on thin sheets of gold but it was transcribed to paper long ago. The document is written in multiple languages, one of which is untranslated. The same symbol is repeated three times in the message at the 1st, 17th and 162nd words. Here's the beginning of the translated text of the message:

[symbol] show child [unknown] children [unknown] [unknown] you make [unknown] History [unknown] seven [unknown] comes Anubis [symbol] [unknown] path [unknown] child [unknown] decided [unknown] leave [unknown] many your [unknown] people thirty in one thirty...

Doesn't make much sense huh? Want to try and decode the document yourself?

Unfortunately, Sir Richard's group aren’t the only ones looking for ultimate power. His opponents already have a two-day head start. Their journeys will lead them to the cradles of civilization, but where does their journey start? What will they discover at the end?

What about the situation between Richard and Donna? Is he still lying to her? Did he send the threatening letter? Everyone, including Joyce believes Richard would be the logical choice. Richard swears he didn’t send it, but if he didn’t then who did? Who sought Joyce's help through a mysterious phone call to the mine? Will Joyce regret the choice she made?

Where does Kate fit in? Does she hide a secret of her own? Is Tom an ordinary little boy, or is he special like James and Donna? Why does he know so much about the Dine’é Yá? Who told him?

Do you drink bottled water?

If you do then that's both good and bad:

The good

  • It's considered healthy. Most of us don't drink enough water.
  • It doesn't have the nasty chlorine taste of tap water.
  • It is less likely to have nasties such as pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or fluorides (Fluorides help children's teeth but are an accumulative poison to adults harming your joints)

The bad

  • It's expensive.
  • It causes plastic waste. Most bottles are not recycled.
  • It is likely to add to plastic nanoparticles in your body.

So what is the answer?

Invest in an under-sink reverse osmosis water filter, re-mineralization kit and re-usable drink container such as a Contigo. It will remove the nasties from tap water, put back the healthy minerals and taste great. Such a system is expensive to set up initially (£300) but will save you money in the long run. I have one and use it for drinking, cooking and even watering plants. The one I use has two filters, one lasting a year and the other two years. I recently bought both filters and a re-mineralization kit and paid £106.
